This exhibit is a study of colours. More precisely, walls in the Mekong Delta region during the Monsoon rains.
These walls spend much of the year in a dusty and muted form but during the Monsoon season they come to life in seductive colour.
These walls are everywhere, calling out to be seen in a voice, not loud or shrill like the nearby street vendors, but in splendid silence of velvety hues and luscious textures. The mosses and molds seem to caress these old walls, as if in a silent slow motion dance. An exotic symphony where not one note can be heard but every one can be exquisitely seen.
“Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways. ”
― Oscar Wilde
