As part of an upcoming exhibit the process of selecting, editing, and curating the images causes a lot of reflection and contemplation.

Why this image or that? What draws me to or drew me to this subject or that? These are just a few of the endless questions that dominate the dialogue surrounding the exhibit.

Over and over again the topic of line and form, the details that make up the whole, the way light and line play with each other, these are the elements that I am drawn to. Seeing shapes in buildings is made even more clear when working in shades of grey. Colours are such a fantastic torment but can be very distracting when exploring buildings and the way they present their idea to the world. But in black and white everything is distilled down to its fundamental idea.

Though I mostly work in digital medium format I try to work with film when I can as the process is, by its very nature, one that is not quck and that causes me to slow down even more and really look at the scene from a slower and more contemplative perspective.
